About the airport
Bilbao Airport is the busiest airport in northern Spain. It lies in the town of Loiu, about 12 km by road from central Bilbao, on the other side of Mount Artxanda.
Terminals
The airport has a single terminal, designed by Santiago Calatrava and opened in 2000, nicknamed “La Paloma” (the dove) for its shape. Arrivals are on the ground floor and departures upstairs, so walking distances are short.
Services
The terminal has restaurants, shops, free wifi, a lounge and car rental desks. In arrivals there is a Bizkaibus ticket office where you can also top up a Barik card.

Bus to central Bilbao (Gran Vía, Plaza Moyúa, Alameda Recalde) and the Termibus station, every 15 min.
