About the airport
El Hierro Airport, opened in 1972, links the westernmost Canary Island with the rest of the archipelago. It lies on the east coast, in the municipality of Valverde and a few kilometres from the capital, on a platform by the sea.
Terminal
The airport has a single passenger terminal, small and very easy to use. All flights are domestic, mostly to Tenerife North and some to Gran Canaria. ACI has named it Europe’s best airport with under two million passengers several times.
