18 km from central Berlin. Live flights, getting to town, car rental and where to stay.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt opened in October 2020, after years of delays, replacing Tegel and Schönefeld as the German capital’s main airport. It lies in the municipality of Schönefeld (Brandenburg), about 20 km south-east of central Berlin.
T1 is the main building, with the central hall and the North, South and Main piers. T2, right next door, is a compact check-in and security terminal used by several airlines, mostly low-cost carriers; its boarding gates are on the T1 piers. The railway station lies beneath T1, a few minutes’ walk from both.
You’ll find restaurants, shops, free wifi, lounges, a visitor terrace, cash machines and car rental desks.

The FEX and several regional trains run from the station under T1 to Berlin Hauptbahnhof in about 30 min. You need an ABC-zone ticket.
The S9 runs towards Ostkreuz, Alexanderplatz and Friedrichstraße, and the S45 towards Südkreuz. Slower than the FEX but frequent.
