About the airport
Faro Airport is about 4 km west of Faro city and is the main gateway to the Algarve, Portugal’s southern beach region. It receives many low-cost and charter flights from across Europe, especially in summer.

It has a single terminal, with arrivals and departures in the same building. Flights and routes increase sharply in high season, when it fills with holidaymakers.

The terminal has cafés, shops, free wifi and car rental desks. The airport has no train or metro connection, so many travellers rent a car or book a transfer to their accommodation.
