About the airport
Fuerteventura Airport is the main gateway to the island. It lies about 5 km south of Puerto del Rosario, the capital, on the east coast right by the sea, making it a handy starting point for exploring both the north and the south of the island.

The airport has a single passenger terminal, with separate departures and arrivals areas. It handles domestic flights, connections to the other Canary Islands and many European routes, a lot of them seasonal.

A wild beach several kilometres long at the foot of the Jandía mountains. Reached by a dirt track; swimming can be dangerous.

Large sea caves on the west coast, next to the fishing village of Ajuy, among some of the oldest rocks in the Canary Islands.
