Incheon International Airport, on an island west of Seoul, is South Korea’s main international gateway and one of Asia’s busiest hubs.
The original terminal, used by most foreign airlines, with extensive shopping, lounges and a cultural centre. A newer terminal used by Korean Air, Delta and other SkyTeam carriers, linked to Terminal 1 by a free shuttle train.
Services are those of a major airport: cafés, shops, information and airline desks. There is an express rail link to Seoul, plus limousine buses and taxis; the train is the quickest transport.
The AREX express train reaches Seoul Station in about 45 minutes; an all-stop version is cheaper but slower.
Coaches run to central Seoul, Gangnam and other districts, useful for destinations off the train line.
Taxis wait outside each terminal; the ride into central Seoul can take over an hour depending on traffic.
