About the airport

Memmingen Allgäu Airport is a former military airfield that became a civil airport in 2007 and focuses on low-cost airlines. It sits next to Memmingen, in Swabia, but more than 100 km from Munich: although it is sometimes marketed as “Munich West”, allow at least an hour and a half to reach the Bavarian capital.

Terminal

The airport has a single passenger terminal, small and with short walking distances. Flights are mainly operated by Ryanair and Wizz Air, to holiday destinations and to cities in Eastern Europe and the Balkans.

    Rank outside the terminal. Central Memmingen is about 10-15 min away; a taxi to Munich is very expensive.
