About the airport
Baghdad International Airport (BGW) lies about 16 km west of the centre of Iraq’s capital and is the country’s main air gateway. It is the base of Iraqi Airways. After recovering following 2003, traffic has been growing: it handled around 2.9 million passengers in 2022.
