Airport · Amman, Jordan
7 km from central Amman. Live flights, getting to town, car rental and where to stay.
Marka International Airport (ADJ), also known as Amman City Airport, is in the Marka district, about 5 km northeast of central Amman. It is used for both civil and military purposes and began receiving commercial flights again in 2025, as a secondary facility alongside Queen Alia, the country’s main airport. It is used mainly by travellers who want to fly from an airport much closer to the city, with regional and low-cost flights.
There is a single small terminal, with arrivals and departures under the same roof, so there are no transfers between buildings.
Services are regional, with airlines such as Royal Jordanian, Air Arabia, flynas, Jazeera Airways and Air Cairo, and flights to the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. As this is a recent reopening, routes and airlines can change easily.
There are shops and restaurants, but it is a small terminal: don’t expect the range of a large airport. Bring some cash in Jordanian dinars just in case.
Amman has two airports, Marka (ADJ) and Queen Alia (AMM), the latter about 30 km south of the city. Check your ticket to see which one is yours, because mixing them up could cost you your flight. Also confirm your schedule before travelling: services here change more often than at the main airport.
Taxis wait outside the terminal; agree the fare before getting in, as most are not metered, or confirm the ride-hailing app fare in advance.
A single, small terminal building, with arrivals and departures under the same roof. It is a small regional airport with limited scheduled flights; services and routes can change, so it's worth confirming your flight before travelling.
