About the airport
Lajes Airport is the gateway to Terceira island in the Azores. It lies in the parish of Lajes, in the municipality of Praia da Vitória, and shares its runway with the Lajes Field military air base. Angra do Heroísmo, the island’s historic capital, is about 20 km away.
Terminal
The Aerogare Civil das Lajes is the passenger terminal, housed in a single building. It is the main international connection point for the central group of the Azores, with flights to Lisbon, Ponta Delgada and other islands of the archipelago, plus seasonal routes to other destinations.
Services
The terminal has cafés, shops, wifi and car rental desks. Getting around the island by car is the easiest option, so it is worth booking ahead in high season.
