About the airport
Kirkwall Airport is the main airport of the Orkney Islands, about 5 km south-east of Kirkwall on the island of Mainland. It links the archipelago with the rest of Scotland and with other Orkney islands, mostly with Loganair flights.

The terminal is small but has a café and car rental desks. It is best to book a taxi or rental car in advance and to check your flight status before setting out, as weather can disrupt flights in the islands.
