About the airport
London Stansted is about 55 km north-east of central London, in Essex. It is one of Ryanair’s major bases and handles mainly low-cost flights to cities across Europe.
Terminals
It has a single terminal, with departures and arrivals in the same building. After security you take a shuttle train to reach some of the departure gates, so leave yourself some extra time.

There are cafés, restaurants, shops, duty free, free wifi, left luggage, currency exchange, nearby hotels and car rental desks. The railway station is directly beneath the terminal.

Stansted Express
A direct train to Liverpool Street station in London in about 50 min. It leaves from the station beneath the terminal.

Other trains link the airport with Cambridge and other towns in the east of England, as well as London.

Coaches to London (Victoria, Liverpool Street and other stops) and to towns in eastern England. They are usually cheaper than the train, though slower.

Official rank outside the terminal. Central London is more than an hour away depending on traffic, and the fare is much higher than the train.
