Ibiza Town
The best base if you are not hiring a car: harbour, Dalt Vila, restaurants and buses to the beaches. It is lively at night, so choose your street carefully.

Itinerary · Ibiza
5-day Ibiza itinerary: Dalt Vila, Ses Salines, Cala Comte, Santa Eulària, Es Vedrà and a ferry excursion to Formentera.
This 5-day itinerary is for those who want to get to know the island at a relaxed pace, mixing town, beach and villages, and finishing with a day in Formentera. It is more comfortable with a hire car, but it can also be done by bus and taxi.
You have several options from Ibiza airport. The AERO3 Ibiza-Aeropuerto Express bus goes straight to Ibiza town. Lines AERO1, AERO2, AERO4 and AERO5 connect with Sant Antoni, Sant Josep, Ibiza bus station, Santa Eulària and Platja d’en Bossa, and some only run in season. Taxis leave from the rank next to the terminal and take about 15 minutes to Ibiza Town.
Day 1

Ibiza Town
The walled old town, a World Heritage Site, is the historic heart of the island. Enter through the Portal de ses Taules and climb unhurriedly up the steep streets to the cathedral, where the views of the harbour and the sea make the climb worthwhile. A guided tour helps you make sense of its Renaissance walls.

Ibiza Town
If you have time, keep exploring the upper part: the contemporary art museum, the bastions and the viewpoints let you see the city from other angles. Wear shoes with good grip, because the cobbles are slippery.
Ibiza Town
Walk down to the harbour through Sa Penya, the old fishermen's quarter of narrow streets and whitewashed houses. It is a good place for an evening stroll and for dinner of fish or rice dishes at one of the local restaurants.
Ibiza Town
The tree-lined promenade is the drawing room of the new town, with café terraces and shops. A coffee in the plaza del Parque, a few steps from the walls, makes a good break between morning and afternoon.
Day 2

South of the island
A natural park of salt pans and fine-sand beaches, very close to the airport. Combine a walk beside the salt pans with a swim at the ses Salines beaches; the quieter spots are further from the beach bars. Arrive early and bring water and sun protection.
South of the island
The remains of a Phoenician settlement, part of the World Heritage-listed site, lie beside a small cove of reddish rocks. It makes a short visit and a peaceful swim before lunch.

South-west coast
The islet of Es Vedrà, surrounded by legends, looks imposing from Cala d'Hort. Arrive before sunset, go down to the beach and stay to watch the sun go down behind the rock. If you would rather see it from the sea, there are boat trips.
Day 3
West coast
A white-sand beach with a gently shelving seabed, surrounded by pine trees, with natural shade and a relaxed family atmosphere. It is a comfortable place to spend the morning and have lunch right on the beach.
West coast
One of the island's best-known coves, with clear water, rocks and several small islets. It is famous for its sunsets, so allow plenty of time to find a spot, and park before it fills up in summer.
Sant Antoni
The bay of Sant Antoni de Portmany is the classic setting for an Ibiza sunset. Stroll along the seafront promenade, visit the old fortified church in the old town and find a bar with views to the west to see the day out.
Day 4
Santa Eulària
The quietest town on the east coast has a pleasant seafront promenade, a marina and a comfortable atmosphere for families. Also stroll along the banks of the Riu de Santa Eulària.
Santa Eulària
The 16th-century fortified church on a hill overlooks the village and the coast. You walk up from the old town and the sea view is worth the effort.
Santa Eulària
A sheltered cove with calm water, sand and shallows at first, very suitable if you are travelling with children.
Day 5 · Day trip
The neighbouring island is a short ferry ride from Ibiza harbour, with a crossing of about 30-40 minutes to La Savina. Once there, hire a bike, an electric scooter or a car, or use the bus. Don't miss Ses Illetes, with very clear water and white sand, and Migjorn beach, long and quieter. If you have time left, the Mola lighthouse offers a viewpoint to the east, and the one at Cap de Barbaria, at the southern tip, is a stop with open landscapes. Book the ferry in advance in summer and check the last boat back.

A quieter spot on the east coast, with a seafront promenade, nearby beaches and a good family atmosphere. You will need a bus or car to get around the island.
Convenient for the sunsets and the coves on the west coast. Noisier in summer, with plenty of nightlife.
Itinerary · Ibiza

Yes, it is the star excursion. With a full day you have time to see Ses Illetes and Migjorn beach, without needing a car.
With bus and taxi you can reach Ibiza Town, Sant Antoni and Santa Eulària. For isolated coves, a car or taxi saves a lot of time.
