About the airport
Trabzon Airport is about 6 km east of the city of Trabzon, on the coast of the eastern Black Sea. It opened in 1957 and its runway runs right beside the sea. It is the main gateway to Trabzon and to nearby sights such as Sumela Monastery and Uzungöl.
