About the airport
Gelendzhik Airport (GDZ) is a small holiday airport on the western edge of the town, a few kilometres from the centre, on the Black Sea coast. Rebuilt and reopened in 2010, it has a runway of about 3,100 m and mainly handles flights from Russian cities. It was closed to civil flights from 24 February 2022 and resumed operations in 2025, on a limited basis; routes and schedules depend on the restrictions in force, so check with your airline before travelling.
