About the airport
Platov International Airport (ROV) is the airport of Rostov-on-Don, about 29 km north-east of the city centre, in the Aksaysky district. It opened in 2017 to replace the old city airport and was built for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Since 24 February 2022 the airport has been closed to civil flights and there is no flight schedule. This guide describes the airport as it operated before the closure.

Services
Before the closure, the terminal had the basic passenger services, such as cafés and shops, and buses and taxis connected the airport with Rostov-on-Don. None of these services is available at present.
Getting to the city
Bus
A bus line linked the airport with Rostov railway station, a journey of about an hour. There is no service at present.
Taxi
Taxis used to wait outside the terminal, for trips to Rostov-on-Don and the surrounding area. There is no service at present.
