About the airport
Battambang Airport is about 3 km from the centre of Battambang, the provincial capital in north-western Cambodia. It is a small airfield with a single asphalt runway of about 1,600 m, built in 1968 as a military base. Today it is used mainly for military and private aviation and has no regular commercial flights: there are plans to reopen it to civil traffic, but check its status before relying on it.
