About the airport

Elista Airport is about 9 km from the city centre and serves the capital of Kalmykia. It was closed to civil flights from February 2022 and reopened in May 2024. Since 2022, operations at many Russian airports have been subject to airspace restrictions and temporary closures: the routes available depend on the restrictions in force, so check with your airline before travelling.
