Chernivtsi International Airport (CWC) is the airport of Chernivtsi, about 4 km from the city centre. Before the war it was a small regional airport in Bukovina, with a limited number of routes. Since 24 February 2022, following the Russian invasion, Ukrainian airspace has been closed to civil aviation: the airport is closed to civilian flights and there is no flight schedule. This guide describes the airport as it operated before the war.
A single passenger terminal, with check-in, departures and arrivals in the same building, for domestic and international flights. Closed to civilian flights since 24 February 2022.
Before the closure, facilities were limited to the basics, such as a café and information and check-in services, in keeping with its size. The city centre was reached mainly by taxi or a pre-booked transfer. None of these services is available at present.

Before the closure, taxis waited outside the terminal. The ride to the city centre took roughly 10-15 min; it is best to agree the fare in advance or book the taxi through an app.
