Airport · Kyiv, Ukraine
29 km from central Kyiv. Live flights, getting to town, car rental and where to stay.
Boryspil International Airport (KBP) is the airport of Kyiv, about 30 km from the city centre. Before the war it was Ukraine’s main international airport and its largest air hub, with flights across Europe and to the Middle East. Since 24 February 2022, following the Russian invasion, Ukrainian airspace has been closed to civil aviation: the airport is closed to civilian flights and there is no flight schedule. This guide describes the airport as it operated before the war.
Terminal D, opened in 2012, was the main terminal and handled most of the international traffic. Terminal F, an older terminal, handled part of the airport’s traffic. Closed to civilian flights since 24 February 2022.
Before the closure, the terminal had cafés, restaurants, shops, free wifi and car rental desks. To reach Kyiv, about 30 km away, travellers could use the Boryspil Express train, Skybus shuttle buses or a taxi. None of these services is available at present.

Before the closure, the Boryspil Express train, run by Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways), linked Kyiv's central station with the airport in about 40 min.
Before the closure, Skybus shuttle buses linked the airport with central Kyiv.
Before the closure, taxis waited outside the terminal. The ride to the city centre took roughly 40-60 min; it is best to agree the fare in advance or book the taxi through an app.
