Jessore Airport JSR

Jessore Airport (also spelled Jashore) lies about 6 km west of the city, in southwestern Bangladesh, and serves Jessore and the wider Khulna region. It was built by the RAF in 1940 and today is shared between civil and military use. It is a regional airport with domestic flights and handled about 175,000 passengers in 2023.

Terminals

There is a single terminal. A new building with eight check-in counters, designed for up to one million passengers a year, opened in July 2023, so it is comfortable and takes only a few minutes to walk through.

Airlines and destinations

Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Novoair and US-Bangla Airlines operate here. The main route is Dhaka, with several flights a day; there are also links to Chattogram and, less often, Cox’s Bazar. There are no international flights.

Services

Services are simple: do not expect lounges or a large shopping area. Bring some cash in takas in case you need it.

Tips

With one building and few flights, arriving an hour before a domestic departure is enough. Schedules and frequencies change often, so confirm with your airline shortly before you travel.
