Narita International Airport is Tokyo’s main gateway for long-haul and most international flights, about 60 km east of the city centre in Chiba Prefecture.
The airport has three terminals serving different airlines: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 handle most international flights with full-service airlines like ANA and Japan Airlines, while Terminal 3 is a simpler low-cost terminal accessible by free shuttle bus from Terminal 2.
Narita is a major airport with excellent facilities including shops, restaurants and hotel services. The best connection to the city is by train — the Keisei Skyliner and JR Narita Express reach central Tokyo in 40-60 minutes — though buses and taxis are also available from the terminals.
