Abu Musa Island Airport AEU

Abu Musa Island Airport (AEU) serves this Persian Gulf island, in Iran’s Hormozgan province. It has a single asphalt runway of nearly 3,000 metres and shared use: it is run jointly by the Iran Airports Company and the Revolutionary Guard. In 2017 it handled about 37,000 passengers, so it is a very small airport, meant to link the island with the mainland.

Terminals

There is a single small terminal, with arrivals and departures under the same roof.

Airlines and destinations

Iran Air, Karun Airlines and Pouya Air fly to Bandar Abbas, the main destination and the connection point to the rest of Iran. There is no wide choice of routes.

Tips

As an airport with few flights and military as well as civil use, confirm your flight with the airline well in advance and don’t count on same-day alternatives. I could not verify the terminal’s specific services, so bring what you need for the trip.
