Kashan Airport KKS

Kashan Airport (KKS) lies about 12 km southeast of the city, on the route linking Isfahan and Yazd. It is a small regional airport used by both civil and military traffic, and one of the oldest in Iran: it opened in 1954, was closed for roughly two decades and reopened to commercial flights in 2016.

Terminals

There is a single small terminal, with arrivals and departures under the same roof. There are no transfers or long walks: everything takes just a few minutes.

Airlines and destinations

The offer is very limited and has changed over the years. When the airport reopened in 2016, ATA Airlines linked Kashan with Mashhad and Kish Island, and further domestic routes with Iran Air were announced. These are domestic flights, not international ones. Frequencies are low, so do not count on several options a day.

Expect basic facilities. Hotels, restaurants and shops are in the city, so it is best to arrive with whatever you need for the trip.

Tips

Check with the airline that your flight is still operating before planning the trip: at airports like this one, schedules are easily cancelled or changed. Kashan is a popular stop between Tehran and Isfahan for its historic houses and the Fin Garden; if the flight does not suit you, the road is the usual alternative.
