About the airport

Shahid Ashrafi Esfahani Airport (KSH) is the airport of Kermanshah, in western Iran. It lies on the eastern side of the city and shares its land with a military base of the Iranian armed forces. It serves Kermanshah province and its neighbours, and is the gateway to a region of Zagros mountains and historic sites such as Taq-e Bostan and Bisotun.

Terminals

There is a single passenger terminal, with arrivals and departures in the same building, so you will not have to move between buildings.

Airlines and destinations

It handles mainly domestic flights with Iranian airlines. The main link is with Tehran (Aseman and Qeshm Air are listed on that route), and there are also flights to Mashhad with carriers such as Qeshm Air, Iran Airtour and Sepehran. Traffic rises at times with pilgrims heading to the shrines of Iraq, and there may be the odd seasonal international flight.

Services

Do not expect extensive facilities: count on the basics. Hotels and most dining options are in the city.

Tips

Schedules change often, so confirm your flight with the airline shortly before travelling. As the airport shares its runway with a military base, additional security checks may apply: arrive with time to spare and keep your passport at hand, even on domestic flights.
