About the airport
Bhavnagar Airport (BHU) is in Shubhashnagar, about 4 km southeast of the centre of Bhavnagar, in Gujarat, and is run by the Airports Authority of India. It is very small and traffic has fallen sharply: around 20,000 passengers between April 2025 and March 2026.
Terminals
A single small terminal of about 1,600 m², with room for about 110 passengers and three check-in counters. Everything is in the same building.
Airlines and destinations
IndiGo flies to Navi Mumbai and Ventura AirConnect to Surat. The offer is very limited and can change, so confirm the route before planning a trip around this airport.
Services
Services are basic. According to Wikipedia there is a VIP lounge, but do not expect shops or any notable food offer; hotels and restaurants are in the city.
Tips
With so few flights, a cancellation or schedule change has more impact than at other airports: check your booking a few days ahead. If you need more connections, it is often worth looking at the larger airports elsewhere in Gujarat.
Getting to the city
Taxi
Prepaid taxi counters are often available inside the terminal, or ride-hailing apps can be used outside; agree the fare in advance if not metered.
