About the airport
Belagavi Airport (formerly Belgaum) is in Sambra, on the edge of the city, in northern Karnataka, close to the border with Goa and Maharashtra. It was built by the Royal Air Force in 1942 and is one of the oldest in the state. It is a small regional airport: in the 2025-26 fiscal year about 300,000 passengers used it.
Terminals
There is a single terminal, opened in 2017, of about 3,600 m² with six check-in counters. Arrivals and departures share the building, and a larger terminal is under construction, due at the end of 2026.
