About the airport
Rajkot International Airport is in Hirasar, about 36 km from the city of Rajkot, in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2023. Its runway, about 3,040 m, can take large aircraft. It is growing fast: from about 525,000 passengers in 2023-24 to about 1.25 million in 2025-26.
Terminals
There is a single terminal, with four boarding bridges and 20 check-in counters, designed for roughly 1,800 passengers at peak hour. Its design is inspired by Rajkot’s Ranjit Vilas Palace.
Airlines and destinations
It handles mainly domestic traffic with Indian airlines, linking Saurashtra to the country’s big cities. Routes and operators change often, so check with your airline which flights run on your date.
Services
It is a new terminal with a control tower, firefighting systems and solar power, but it sits outside the city, so the commercial offer inside the building is limited compared with what you will find in Rajkot.
