Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport IDR

Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar International Airport is in Bijasan, about 8 km west of central Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh. It is the city’s main airport, an IndiGo base and a focus point for Air India Express. In 2025-26 it handled about 4.2 million passengers, 19th in India, up 12.9% on the previous year.

Terminals

It has two terminals. Terminal 2, opened in 2012, is the main modern building. The older Terminal 1 was renovated and reopened on 29 March 2026, adding capacity for about 1.5 million passengers a year. Check your ticket or airline for which terminal you leave from. An expansion is planned for around 2028.

Airlines and destinations

IndiGo, Air India Express, Air India, Alliance Air and Star Air operate. Most destinations are domestic (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad), with a few international routes, such as Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, though these change often.

Services

It has a cargo terminal and navigation aids for night operations (Category I ILS). We could not confirm the current passenger-service offer, so check before counting on any particular facility.

Tips

Indore is very well connected for a mid-sized city, and at about 8 km from the centre the airport is close. With two terminals, do not cut your arrival time fine if you do not know which one your flight uses.
