Sari Dasht-e Naz International Airport SRY

Sari Dasht-e Naz Airport (SRY) lies in Miandorud County, in Mazandaran province in northern Iran, and serves Sari and the southern Caspian Sea area. It opened in 1947 and is a small regional airport: it handled around 408,000 passengers in 2017. Varesh Airlines is based here.

Terminals

There is a single, small terminal where departures and arrivals share the same building, so there are no transfers between terminals and no long walks.

Airlines and destinations

Several Iranian airlines operate here, including Varesh Airlines, Iran Air, Caspian Airlines, Iran Aseman and Kish Air, with domestic flights to the country’s main cities. International flights are rare and tend to be seasonal, such as pilgrimage flights to Saudi Arabia.

Tips

It is a good option if you are heading to Mazandaran or the Caspian coast and want to avoid hours on the road from Tehran. Schedules at regional Iranian airports change often, so confirm your flight with the airline before you set off. Foreign bank cards generally do not work in Iran, so bring enough cash.
