Nowshahr Airport NSH

Nowshahr Airport (NSH, also spelled Noshahr) is in Nowshahr, in Mazandaran province, on the shore of the Caspian Sea in northern Iran. It is a small civil airport with an asphalt runway of about 2.1 km, lying below sea level, about 19 metres under it.

Terminals

There is a single small terminal, with arrivals and departures under the same roof.

Airlines and destinations

This is the least clear part of the airport. The sources consulted do not show a stable offer of scheduled flights, and describe it more as an airport for private, executive and charter aviation. If you plan to travel, confirm directly with the airline or your agency that a flight exists on your date before organising anything.

Services

Facilities are basic. Hotels, restaurants and shops are in the town and along the coast, so it is best to arrive with whatever you need for the trip.

Tips

The Caspian coast of Mazandaran is a busy summer holiday area, with Alborz forests a short distance from the sea, and the biggest crowds come in the warm months and on public holidays. If there is no direct flight to Nowshahr, the usual alternative is to fly to another airport in the north or to Tehran and complete the journey by road.
