Murod Kond Airport LTU

Murod Kond Airport (LTU), known as Latur Airport, serves Latur, in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. It is near Chincholiraowadi, about 12 km west of the city. It is a very small airport: it was built in 1991, modernised between 2006 and 2008 and has a 2,300 m runway. Kingfisher Airlines started flying to Latur from Mumbai via Nanded in October 2008, but the service became seasonal and was discontinued.

Terminals

There is a single small terminal, with a capacity of about 60 passengers at peak times and an aircraft parking apron of 100 by 70 metres. It is a simple building, with no transfers or long queues.

Airlines and destinations

The sources consulted show no current regular commercial flights. Before planning your trip, check with the airlines whether any route is operating on your date, because the situation at regional airports in India changes often. In the region, the alternative with regular flights is Nanded airport, and the large airports of Hyderabad or Mumbai are farther away but have far more choice.

Do not expect the services of a large commercial airport. It has basic navigation aids, such as PAPI lights and an aerodrome beacon, and is licensed by the DGCA for public use. For food, currency exchange or hotels, you will need to sort things out in Latur.
