Porbandar Airport PBD

Porbandar Airport serves this coastal city in western Gujarat, known as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a small regional airport with a runway of about 1,400 metres that takes turboprops such as the ATR 72. After about three years without commercial flights, service resumed in March 2025; around 11,000 passengers used the airport between April 2025 and March 2026.

Terminals

There is a single terminal, opened in 2008, of about 4,000 m², able to handle around 100 arriving and 100 departing passengers at the same time. It is small and simple, with no transfers or distances to cover.

Airlines and destinations

SpiceJet operates daily direct flights to Mumbai, and Alliance Air connects to Mumbai and Keshod. The airport is meant for those travelling to Porbandar, its Gandhi-related sites and the Saurashtra coast, and for anyone who wants to avoid a long road journey from other cities in Gujarat.

Services

This is a small terminal, so do not expect a wide choice of shops or restaurants: bring what you need for the journey and leave shopping and meals for the city.

Tips

The airport shares its facilities with the Indian Navy (there are naval squadrons on the site) and a Coast Guard air enclave, so it is not a purely civilian airport. With so few departures a day, allow plenty of time for check-in and check your flight before setting out: service was interrupted for years and schedules can change.
