About the airport
Tirupati Airport is in Renigunta, about 14 km from the city of Tirupati, in Andhra Pradesh. It mainly serves pilgrims heading to the Tirumala temple, one of the most visited in India, and the city itself. It is run by the Airports Authority of India and its current terminal, called Garuda, opened in 2015. In 2025 the runway was extended to about 3,800 metres.
Terminals
There is one terminal, with arrivals and departures in the same building, so you will not need to change buildings. Although the airport carries the international label, the vast majority of flights are domestic.

IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express, Alliance Air, Fly91 and Star Air operate here. The main routes are domestic: Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, among others.

It has the usual facilities of a regional airport: airline desks, a café and a few shops. Do not expect a wide choice.
Tips
At weekends and during religious festivals there are more pilgrims, so book ahead and allow extra time. If you are heading to Tirumala, note that the temple has its own timings and entry bookings, which are best arranged before you fly.
