Sindhudurg Airport SDW

Sindhudurg Airport is in Chipi-Parule, in Vengurla taluka, on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra. It is about 21 km from Malvan and about 31 km from Sindhudurg town. It is a small regional airport serving a tourist area known for its beaches, forts, temples and Malvani cuisine, and its use is growing: around 73,000 passengers between April 2025 and March 2026, almost five times the previous year. The airport officially opened in 2019, but the first scheduled flight, an Alliance Air service to Mumbai, did not arrive until 9 October 2021, under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme.

Terminals

A single, simple terminal, able to handle about 200 departing and 200 arriving passengers at peak hours. The runway is 2,500 m long, enough for an Airbus A320 or a Boeing 737.

Airlines and destinations

Today the main operator is Fly91, an Indian regional airline, with flights to Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. Frequencies are limited and have changed several times since 2021, so take nothing for granted.

Tips

It is a small airport with few flights, aimed at people travelling to the Konkan coast for leisure. Confirm your flight time before booking accommodation, and arrange your transfer to your final destination in advance, as the airport is in a rural area.
