Hubballi Airport HBX

Hubballi Airport (VOHB), formerly called Hubli, is at Gandhi Nagar, about 8 km from Hubballi and some 20 km from Dharwad in northern Karnataka. It serves the twin city of Hubballi-Dharwad and the surrounding region. In the 2024-25 financial year it handled around 376,000 passengers, 8.6% more than the year before.

Terminals

There is one air-conditioned terminal of about 3,600 m², able to handle around 300 passengers at peak hour (150 arrivals and 150 departures). A new terminal is under construction to cope with more traffic. The runway is 2,600 m long and has a Category I ILS.

Airlines and destinations

IndiGo is the main airline, with flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune. Fly91 connects to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. All flights are domestic.

Services

The airport has a domestic cargo terminal and a hotel run by ITC Hotels. It is a small terminal, so do not expect a big choice of shops; for a proper meal or shopping, count on the city.

Tips

Hubballi is a commercial hub of northern Karnataka, and the airport is used mainly by business travellers and people heading to Dharwad or elsewhere in the region. As Dharwad is about 20 km away, work out how you will get there before you land. A small terminal fills up quickly at busy departure times, so arrive early and carry your photo ID.
