About the airport
Manohar International Airport (VOGA), known as Mopa, is at Mopa in North Goa district and serves North Goa and neighbouring parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka. It was inaugurated in December 2022 and began operating on 5 January 2023, when IndiGo flew the first commercial service. It is run by GMR Goa International Airport Limited under a concession. In the 2025-26 financial year it passed 5 million passengers, after around 4.6 million in 2024-25.
Terminals
There is one integrated terminal for domestic and international flights, and a runway of about 3.5 km.
Airlines and destinations
Carriers include IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express, Akasa Air and Fly91, with flights to India’s major cities. There are also international links, including London, Muscat, Doha and Dubai.
Services
The airport has retail and dining areas, plus the usual infrastructure (air traffic control, weather services, a cargo terminal and fuel supply).
Tips
Mopa and Dabolim airport sit at opposite ends of Goa, with a long road journey between them. Mopa suits you if you are staying in the north, for example on the North Goa beaches; if you are heading for Panaji or the south, check which airport your flight uses first, because choosing wrongly can add a lot of transfer time. Book your transport in advance, especially if you land at night.
