Jammu Airport IXJ

Jammu Airport serves Jammu, in the south of Jammu and Kashmir, about 8 km from the city centre along Ranbir Singh Pora Road and close to the border with Pakistan. It is a civil enclave inside Jammu Air Force Station, which belongs to the Indian Air Force, with the civil side run by the Airports Authority of India. About 1.38 million passengers used it in the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Terminals

There is a single terminal, used for domestic flights, with arrivals and departures in the same building and some food and shopping options. It includes facilities designed for pilgrims travelling to the Vaishno Devi temple, one of the main sources of traffic here.

Airlines and destinations

Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India Express and Alliance Air all operate here. Routes reach Delhi, Srinagar, Leh, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai, among other cities. It is also a way into Ladakh through the connection to Leh.

Tips

Because the airport shares its runway with an air force base, security checks are usually strict: arrive with time to spare and keep your photo ID handy. The apron is small (room for about three narrow-body aircraft), so don’t expect large facilities or a wide choice of services.
