About the airport
Coimbatore International Airport is in Peelamedu, about 10 km from the city centre, and is one of the busiest airports in southern India outside the big metros. It handled around 3.4 million passengers in fiscal year 2025-26, almost all on domestic flights, and serves an industrial and textile region sometimes called the “Manchester of South India”.
Terminals
There is a single terminal building, with separate areas for domestic and international flights. A new domestic departures terminal is under construction to increase capacity, so some areas may be affected by building work.
Airlines and destinations
IndiGo is the main airline, alongside Air India, Air India Express and Scoot. Domestic flights link Coimbatore with cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. International services are limited to a handful of routes, including Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

There are shops and places to eat, and the car park is small. This is not a large airport, so do not expect a wide choice of shops or lounges.
