About the airport
Dehradun Airport, known as Jolly Grant, is in Jauligrant, about 25 km south of the city, 20 km from Rishikesh and 35 km from Haridwar. It is the air gateway to Uttarakhand, with access to Rishikesh, Haridwar and the Mussoorie area. It handled close to 1.9 million passengers in fiscal year 2025-26.
Terminals
There is a single modern terminal, opened in October 2021, with capacity for about 4.7 million passengers a year and some 48 check-in counters. Arrivals and departures are in the same building, so there are no transfers.
Airlines and destinations
IndiGo, Air India Express and Alliance Air operate here, with domestic flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad or Srinagar. There are no regular international flights. The runway, about 2,140 m long, handles aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.

Tips
The airport is in a hilly area, so weather can affect flights: leave a margin if you have an onward connection. If you are heading to Rishikesh or Haridwar, note that the airport is about 20 and 35 km away respectively.
