Pantnagar Airport PGH

Pantnagar Airport is in Udham Singh Nagar district, Uttarakhand, about 26 km from Haldwani. It is owned by the state government and run by the Airports Authority of India. It is a small regional airport with a runway of about 1,370 metres suitable for turboprops, and it handled around 72,000 passengers between April 2025 and March 2026, 29% fewer than the year before.

Terminals

There is a single terminal, with arrivals and departures under one roof. It is small, so there are no transfers or long walks inside the building.

Airlines and destinations

The airline currently operating is IndiGo, with connections to Delhi and the Noida area. Other carriers have served the airport in the past (Jagson Airlines, Deccan, Kingfisher), with gaps in service between them, so the offer can change easily.

This is a small terminal with an information desk and airline counters. Do not expect a wide choice of shops and restaurants; bring what you need and leave meals and shopping for the town.

Tips

The airport mainly matters for mountain and nature tourism in the Himalayan foothills: from Pantnagar you reach Nainital (about 65 km), Bhimtal (50 km), Ranikhet (110 km) and Jim Corbett National Park (around 120 km) by road. As those trips use mountain roads, allow plenty of time to reach your accommodation. And since flights are limited and may change, confirm your flight with the airline before planning the trip.
