Nashik International Airport ISK

Nashik Airport is in Ozar, about 20 km northeast of the city, in the state of Maharashtra. It belongs to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the aerospace company that built it in 1964 for its fighter aircraft factory. Despite the “international” name, scheduled passenger flights are almost all domestic. In the 2025-26 fiscal year it handled around 420,000 passengers.

Terminals

There is a single terminal, opened in 2014, able to handle around 300 passengers an hour. Arrivals and departures share the building, so there is no moving between terminals. An expansion is planned to multiply that capacity ahead of Nashik’s Simhastha Kumbh Mela, the great pilgrimage due in 2027.

Airlines and destinations

The main airline is IndiGo, linking Nashik with cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Goa and Hyderabad. The choice is small and can change from one season to the next, so check your flight on the airline’s website.

Tips

Nashik is a few hours by road from Mumbai and Pune, and many travellers weigh up flying against the train or a car. The airport makes sense if a direct flight saves you the trip to Mumbai. As it is a small airport, don’t count on a big choice of shops and restaurants: eat before heading out, and allow enough time for check-in and security.
