About the airport
Maa Danteswari Airport (JGB) serves Jagdalpur, in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, an area of forests and tribal lands in the south of the state. It is a small regional airport, developed under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme and run by the Government of Chhattisgarh. Between April 2025 and March 2026 it handled around 65,000 passengers.
Terminals
There is a single modern terminal, construction of which began in 2017. Arrivals and departures share the same building. The 1,707 m runway received 3C category certification in 2019, allowing ATR-72-type aircraft to operate.
Airlines and destinations
Alliance Air flies to Bilaspur, Delhi and Jabalpur, and IndiGo flies to Hyderabad and Raipur. These routes mainly connect Bastar with the state capital and with larger cities, since the journey by road is long.
Services
It is a small airport, so do not expect a wide choice of shops or restaurants; hotels and shops are in the city.
Tips
With few flights, schedules can change: confirm your flight before booking accommodation, and leave a margin if you connect to another flight in Raipur or Hyderabad.
Getting to the city
Taxi
Prepaid taxi counters are often available inside the terminal, or ride-hailing apps can be used outside; agree the fare in advance if not metered.
